But just as the body needs a healthy mix of fruits and vegetables, fish etc., our financial plan or strategy should also have healthy diversification. If it is only mutual funds then diversify with the best. If you have the possibility to invest in an IRA, Real Estate, Stocks, precious metals etc. great - diversify and stay informed. Cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency, offers a few advantages but just as many disadvantages.
If the global system would be run on the crypto system and either someone forgets to pay the electric bill and the internet goes blank or a super hacker decides to borrow some of your crypto it is not a safe position to be in. You have to be in complete control of your wealth, not government or bank. Crypto is an extremely volatile investment and in some countries illegal. So basically for big investors with know how. For the little guy a casino adventure.

Paper money /dollars?

And what about the good ole dollar? After the Bretton Woods Agreement of 1944, the dollar became the most dominant currency in the world. It was originally traded as a coin, valued by its weight in gold or silver and later traded as a paper note, which was redeemable in gold. In the 1970s, the gold standard was removed, and the value of USD was permitted to float. We have now what is called the Petrodollar. The petrodollar emerged as an economic concept in the 1970s as growing U.S. imports of increasingly costly crude oil increased the dollar holdings of foreign producers. The Kuwait Dinar is the highest currency at the moment. What awaits the dollar in the future?
Back in the second world war era, Germans were using their paper Reichsmark to heat their homes, that was the only value it had then. Today the Reichsmark is just a collectible with no real value. How will the paper dollar turn out in 20 years?

The history of precious metals is a long one, and it’s a story that’s closely intertwined with the evolution of money and the growth of human civilization itself. Precious metals have been valuable resources for centuries, stemming back to ancient civilizations like Egypt. Egypt has been mining gold from Nubia (which means gold) for centuries. If you’ve frequented museums, it’s likely that you’ve seen golden jewelry and sarcophagi on display from ancient Egypt which is very valuable today.
Silver was far scarcer than gold in ancient Egypt, which made it a highly valuable commodity.
Gold and silver has been the standard of value throughout history and remains a highly desired asset today. Human beings have cherished silver and gold consistently for more than 6000 years.
We could go on and on with this topic, but I think you understand which of the three examples would offer the most in real value and that is precious metals.
